"Marhaban"
means
"Welcome" in Arabic, here are some clues to understand better the
Arabic alphabet and letters.
Enjoy !
This letter is called "mîm" and
corresponds to the "m" sound we know in indo-european tongues
This letter is called "ra". It is more or
less pronounced the same way as Spaniards do. Together with
"mîm", the first part of marhaban - "mar" sounds very close
to "the Spanish sea": el mar.
"Ha"
is one of the difficult sounds of the Arabic language. If you speak
German it will be easier. The "Ha" is very close to the smooth German
"H" like in the word "Hase" (rabbit).
